How can I portray witty, smart, on point, and exceptional spelling/grammar ability while not boring readers to death or unmasking the ora that DarthMorpheus has created
(/thinking)

Aw fuck it, who am I kidding!!

I...... am...... simply...... Darth; aka Mark from sunny AZ.

You guys either know me from my history with just about everyone ol' skool to this community or as the occasional poster in my recent moderator role of late.

I first met with Matt and Betsy when they posted their blossoming site to Fark.com (Damn it's been a long time since I visited that shit hole of a site, how ignorant I was of the net in those days. Those were the days where I thought all great porn filtered through persiankitty.com and freebies could be had at fark here and there. Not to say I'm any better off these days, who knows what I'll be saying 5 years from now). I can't remember the exact year that TD 1.0 launched but it's got to be close to 4 or 5 years and looking back, I can't believe how time has flown!

I'm a west coast boy born and raised in SoCal mainly around Santa Monica/Venice area of Los Angeles and moved to the dry heat state in the 90's.

My life and lifestyle is a bit of everything taken from everyone and everywhere. I'm open to just about everything and have tastes to match. Music, Movies, Hobbies, Sports it's all fair in my world. I've enjoyed classical compositions to Hip Hop. Aquatic documentaries to the obvious Star Wars. I've been a grade school athlete to an Apple Computer fanboy. Enjoy Olympic Curling to anything Oakland Raiders. An open book that is really only closed to one chapter, Country. It's not that I haven't given it a shot or even enjoyed the culture of Country music, food, political views, etc. it's just that I find more dislikes than likes and if I had to say that I don't "like" any one thing, it would most likely fall into this camp.

My upbringing has varied in similar fashion. From growing up in the projects of Culver City and getting robbed more than once that included having a gun stuffed in my mouth to more recently being the son of a successful family business that I am being tailored for taking over in the next 5 years. Again, it's been an open book that never ceases to amaze me and make me wonder where I'll be in 5, 10, or 15 years.

My bloodline is a crock-pot of Hispanic heritage from my Spanish grandparents to my Puerto Rican great aunts/uncles and parents from Mexico and Guatemala. Yet with that pedigree, I come off to many as being Italian since I have the lighter complexion of the Spaniards and the dark hair and eyes of the Southern Americans.

Work wise I got my start in restaurants during High School and continued into the bar scene during college. After graduation, I left the industry in search of the elusive office culture I never had the pleasure of enjoying. You know, the 9-5 gig that gets you weekends off and holidays paid... this is a rarity in the restaurant world, believe me! So working my way around landed me in becoming a HR recruiter for various companies in AZ with needs that span assemblers to software engineers for military machinery. I have a secret clearance *shhh* don't tell anyone or I have to kill you and now miss my days of running around the bar putting out fires and hanging out with the bar staff after hours smokin' weed and talking about the next party where we'd love to make the mistake of the bedroom with coworkers. Being a manager though, gave me the 'out' card in that I could fire anyone I fucked up a relationship with... though gladly, it never came to that.

(Damn this is starting to look like an e-harmony profile)

So here we are today on the steps with the gang about to begin a new era of community. I'm glad to be a part of it with you all and hope that I can be a contributing member of this society in one way or another.

Love ya and keep thongs alive!

Now THAT'S an intro! *applause a rawkus (sic) hootin' and hollerin'*

I didn't know you were Latino. All this time....hmmm. Of course, now I'm thinking you may have a sister or cousin, but I won't ask.

Turns out you and I share a few interests. How interesting. :) Thanks for the read. Nice to formally meet you after all these years.

Didn't know about the Latino angle, eh? Guess I should 'speake da spanich' more. hehe

Formalities aside, it has been years and it's been a pleasure knowing you and your complex relationship with XTC that always brings entertainment to all the readers of your tales.

I learned my lesson with the Ipod. I bought the 1st generation one and it had tons of problems. I think I will wait for the 2nd generation... and since #1 isn't out till june, i think it might be awhile! :suspicious:

On second thought, you're woman and that comes easy for you guys! :P

Thanks, Darth. It's always good to see you when you're around as well. You've always been one of the favorites around here. Right up there with Anetta Keys, Mindy Vega, etc. hahaha ;) (I'm teasing.)

If you would like, I get some Spanish funnies every once in a while that I could email to you. Do you remember Stunned from way back? I keep in touch with him almost daily, and he and I hablamos all the time.

We do have some history, eh. Stunned, yeah I remember him well. It's sad, I can't remember everyone's handle from those days but once a name is thrown out, all the memories come flooding back. Guess it goes back to that memory block I have.

And yeah, I don't chime in nearly as often as in the past. Most of my free time during my workday now goes to helping Matt and Betsy in various ways. Then on the weekends, I make it a habit to unplug from the world in order to get a fresh start come Monday.

As you can tell, I'm trying to get back into posting and seeking out goodies that I can enjoy and share with you guys.

Well I contacted Stunned last night and told him about this new forum. I think he's trying to sign up, so keep an eye out to say hello. :)
