Ok, this topic is out of nowhere, but I thought I'd give it a try.

Janine mentioned something about BBQ-ing while watching football, and that made me wonder... Do you guys know any good grilling options for vegetarians?

I'm trying to eat without meat lately, and BBQ ribs, burgers, steaks, etc. on the grill is what I miss most. Any ideas other than bocca burgers and "smart" dogs?

do you eat fish?

grilled corn is good.

We grill a lot, but we mostly only cook meat and veggies (side dishes).

we grill corn like matt said, I think that is my favorite. We also grill potatoes (I par boil them first) as well as veggie skewers. Zuchini and onions make a good combo, also mushrooms in there are good (I'm told - I don't like them personally). Or grilled peppers are yummy. You can pretty much make a kabob out of anything. You can grill fruit too. Peaches and pineapple are especially yummy!

No... We don't do fish either. That's the plan anyway. I think I might sneak in some fish or a burger every now and then, but I'll feel guilty about it.

I think I might go with kabobs... It's just hard for me to be completely satisfied by vegetables some times. Every now and then I have these flashbacks where I can almost see the big, juicy burgers dripping grease onto the hot coals below, causing flare-ups. ...but my veggies just kinda sit there and dry up. lol

i've taken pesto sauce and put it over the hot veggies when the come off. They kinda soak up the flavor and they don't seem as dry.

I like the idea of a fat baked potato on the grill. Mmmmm! :smug:

I've grilled everything from tomatoes (drizzle with a little olive oil, honey, slivers of garlic, salt&pepper) to halved heads of romaine (also spritzed with olive oil then salt&peppered) to zucchini and squash, asparagus and peaches. Just about any firm vegetable is good on the grill, just make sure you oil it up and keep the grill nice and hot.

Cool.... Thanks to all for the great ideas! Every little bit helps when you're new to the veggie game. :smug:
