It's 61 in New York today, and it's going to be 67 tomorrow. This winter has been unusually warm, which is good if you happent have a husband who is from california and hates cold weather, and loves to complain about it.

Has it been warm in your neck of the woods this winter?

Matt has a theory that the seasons are shifting, meaning that winter starts later, but goes later in the spring, causing spring to start later, and push into summer, etc. I wanted to make sure I put that on the internet somewhere so when the theory is proved and some dude gets a nobel prize or something, matt can say "I called it" ala Steven Colbert (http://www.colbertnation.com).

What do you guys think?

OK...sigh...the environmentalist people are scaring up the leaders of the world so that they'll battle pesticide companies, oil companies, etc. But it's all crap. Of COURSE the earth is warming up! How do people think the ICE AGE melted? Has anyone noticed that the earth is no longer below freezing, as a whole? That's how the earth has worked for BILLIONS of years. We little humans ain't gonna do SHIIIIIIIT! Everything we make (styrofoam, dildos, Britney Spears albums, implants) comes from elements born of the planet. Sooner or later, the earth WILL wear that shit down. Styrofoam WILL break down. The earth will survive long after we destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons and bad porn. A little heat is normal and just the egg timer running low on remaining "tic tocs".

Not to start a flame war with Pigpen or anything, but you all should really watch Al Gore's flick "An Inconvenient Truth".

I rented it the other day and even though there's a slight tree hugger spin, there's no denying some of the facts he states and reflects in graphs.

Yes we're heading for another Ice Age and yes this has happened before, but looking at all of history, the changes we're going through have never happened at this quick a pace.

Check it out and allow your opinions to have further ammunition either against or for the global warmth movement.

No problem, Darth. I'm always open to new information. I just dislike blanket statements.
I've seen most of that documentary (it's even up for an Oscar I understand) on the plane. It's pretty good, and there's no doubt there's an issue. My point, which I guess I didn't get out properly, was that it's not ALL our "fault". Hell...there are over 6 billion people now. Maybe if we alternated days between men and women of who could exhale CO2 during the day we might also help out. Ready XTC? You first. GO! :D

I watched it actually. Very good points, so much so that I've bought my 5 lightbulbs that Al requested! :spider_biggrin: The big picture scared the hell outta me!
